Two miles.
Four teams.
Bragging rights were on the line.
Absolute did its annual cleaning of miles 3 through 5 along I-94 in Moorhead on Wednesday, August 24th. Every year, Absolute employees don the neon and trench the trenches to uncover roadside treasures. This season, the Absolute crew separated into four teams, each hungry to find the most bizarre diamonds in the ditch.

Grant ” The Button Up Bulldozer” Christian
Tanya “FlyTunes” Weets
Key Finds: A life vest and a dead cell phone.
Team Two: 1337 Street
Luke “Bear Claw” Petterson – Captain
Cas “J-Pop” Johnson
Tim “Paddy McPatty Patterson” McMichael

Team 3: Road Kill Connoisseurs
Mark “I’ll Touch it for 50 and Eat it for 100” Huesman – Captain
Jason “Son of a Ditch” Jacobson

Team 4: Devise and Conquer

Winner: 1337 Street
When asked, “What are you going to do with your treasures?” Cas responded, “Most things we donate to the dump, but Tim gave Adam (Wiedman, Art Director) the ‘How to Tie Knots’ book seeing as Adam’s an avid fisherman and will be getting married the following weekend. It just seemed appropriate on a few levels.”
All in all, it was a great event. Our adopted highway got a well-deserved grooming and we all got some much-needed exercise. Congrats to Luke, Cas and Tim for winning this year’s competition and we look forward to the 2012 clean up.
