We recently ran across an article about taking a more advanced approach to social media. These ideas go beyond the basics of social media, and there’s some good ideas in there.

The major points are this:

  • Use multimedia when possible – videos and photos can go a long way in getting people more interested and keeping them informed
  • Make your online and offline advertising work together, and cross promote them
  • Adapt your message to better fit within each social media platform that you are utilizing
  • Get visibility within more local social networks and make sure you show up for local searches on search engines
  • Use contests and discounts to get people more interested and encourage them to interact with you
