Learning Objective 1: Social Media Strategy & Content Planning

Objective:

Develop an understanding of how social media strategy supports brand positioning and marketing goals.

Learned Skill / Project:

The intern will assist in developing social media content plans, including defining content pillars, platform-specific approaches, posting cadence, and messaging themes aligned with brand objectives.

Measurement:

Success will be measured by the intern’s contribution to a documented social media content plan, reviewed and approved by the supervising manager.

Learning Objective 2: Content Creation & Platform Execution

Objective:

Build practical skills in creating and publishing platform-appropriate social media content.

Learned Skill / Project:

The intern will support the creation, scheduling, and publishing of social media content, gaining experience with captions, visual selection, basic editing, and platform tools.

Measurement:

Success will be measured by the completion and approval of published social media posts that meet brand guidelines and require minimal revision.

Learning Objective 3: Social Media Performance Analysis

Objective:

Learn how to evaluate social media performance and use insights to improve content effectiveness.

Learned Skill / Project:

The intern will assist in reviewing social media analytics, tracking engagement metrics such as reach, impressions, and engagement rate, and summarizing insights and recommendations.

Measurement:

Success will be measured by the intern’s ability to produce social media performance summaries that demonstrate understanding of key metrics and content performance trends.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing social media content plans aligned with brand strategy, including content pillars, messaging themes, and platform-specific approaches
  • Support planning and execution of social media posting schedules and content calendars
  • Create and draft social media content, including captions, visuals, and basic edits tailored to each platform
  • Schedule and publish social media posts using platform tools and management systems
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, voice, and overall marketing objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to refine content ideas and improve creative execution
  • Monitor social media channels and assist in maintaining consistent brand presence across platforms
  • Analyze social media performance by tracking key metrics such as reach, impressions, and engagement rate
  • Summarize performance insights and contribute recommendations to improve content effectiveness
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to inform content strategy
